Abstract
A new phenanthrene based chemosensor has been synthesized and investigated to act as highly selective fluorescence and visual sensor for Cu 2 + ion with very low detection limit of 1.58 nM; this has also been used to image Cu 2 + in human cervical HeLa cancer cells. © 2012 Elsevier B.V.
