Abstract
Basophils are infrequent granulocytes which are important for Th2 responses, protection against helminthic parasites and the pathogenesis of allergy and other inflammatory conditions. Recent reports suggest that in mice basophils function as antigen-presenting cells for mediation of Th2 responses. However, human basophils lack features of antigen-presenting cells. © 2016 Elsevier Masson SAS.
