Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad&nbsp;(IIT Palakkad or IIT PKD) is a public autonomous&nbsp;engineering&nbsp;and&nbsp;research&nbsp;institute located in&nbsp;Palakkad,&nbsp;Kerala. It was&nbsp;one of the five new&nbsp;IITs&nbsp;proposed in the&nbsp;2014 Union budget of India. The campus was inaugurated on 3 August 2015. The institute has 94 faculty, 978 students, and 63 non-teaching staffs.

IT Palakkad currently offers four-year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and two years MS programmes in 8 different engineering disciplines including&nbsp;Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil among others.

This paper presents an overview of MOS device characteristics and its use as voltage controlled resistors. A modified gate driving mechanism is proposed to enhance the MOS resistor properties. Generally, MOS resistors behave linearly only for a small value of Drain-to-Source voltage (VDS). With the new scheme, the non-linearity that arises out of its dependence on V DS is removed and the linearity property of the resistor is kept intact even for larger values of VDS.

MOS characteristics and a modified linear MOS resistor

In this paper a new concept of ranking among the solutions of the same front, along with elite preservation mechanism and ensuring diversity through the nearest neighbor method is proposed for multi-objective genetic algorithms. This algorithm is applied on a set of benchmark multi-objective test problems and the results are compared with that of NSGA-II (a similar algorithm). The proposed algorithm is seen to over perform the existing algorithm. More specifically, the new approach has been used to solve the deceptive multi-objective optimization problems in a better way.
