Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad&nbsp;(IIT Palakkad or IIT PKD) is a public autonomous&nbsp;engineering&nbsp;and&nbsp;research&nbsp;institute located in&nbsp;Palakkad,&nbsp;Kerala. It was&nbsp;one of the five new&nbsp;IITs&nbsp;proposed in the&nbsp;2014 Union budget of India. The campus was inaugurated on 3 August 2015. The institute has 94 faculty, 978 students, and 63 non-teaching staffs.

IT Palakkad currently offers four-year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and two years MS programmes in 8 different engineering disciplines including&nbsp;Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil among others.

Ternary content addressable memory (TCAM) is a popular hardware device for quick routing operation and a best solution for applications like packet forwarding and classification. However, the high price and power consumption area unit limiting its quality and flexibility. During this paper, a Low outflow power TCAM design that uses match line technique is planned to scale Minimize the outflow power dissipation of the SRAM cells. The experimental results show that outflow power may be reduced by using UMC 90nm CMOS method with 1.0 offer voltage compared with the traditional TCAM design.

LOW POWER TCAM USING PRE-CHARGE MATCH LINE TECHNIQUE

The importance of sequence-defined polymers is evident in highly developed biological systems. As such, their synthetic de novo production with similar macromolecular diversity, efficiency, and speed has been the focus of considerable research. In this brief review, the rationale behind the new synthesis of sequence-defined oligothioetheramides (oligoTEAs) will be placed in context with the accepted methods of peptide and peptoid synthesis, where all methods notably utilize chemical orthogonality in their design. Along with the conceptual design, we will discuss the assembly of oligoTEAs by highlighting the solution-phase kinetics of each orthogonal reaction, the liquid-phase fluorous purification methodology, a proof-of-principle synthesis, and the assembly of a full-length oligomer. Overall, the success of oligoTEAs stems from the rapid orthogonal chemical reactions at each end of the unique N-allyl-N-acrylamide monomer. Sequence-defined oligothioetheramides

Efficient sensing of trace amount nitroaromatic (NAC) explosives has become a major research focus in recent time due to concerns over national security as well as their role as environment pollutants. NO2-containing electron-deficient aromatic compounds, such as picric acid (PA), trinitrotoluene (TNT), and dinitrotoluene (DNT), are the common constituents of many commercially available chemical explosives. In this article, we have summarized our recent developments on the rational design of electron-rich self-assembled discrete molecular sensors and their efficacy in sensing nitroaromatics both in solution as well as in vapor phase. Several π-electron-rich fluorescent metallacycles (squares, rectangles, and tweezers/pincers) and metallacages (trigonal and tetragonal prisms) have been synthesized by means of metal-ligand coordination-bonding interactions, with enough internal space to accommodate electron-deficient nitroaromatics at the molecular level by multiple supramolecular interactions. Such interactions subsequently result in the detectable fluorescence quenching of sensors even in the presence of trace quantities of nitroaromatics. The fascinating sensing characteristics of molecular architectures discussed in this article may enable future development of improved sensors for nitroaromatic explosives. © 2015 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Self-assembled discrete molecules for sensing nitroaromatics

The folding-unfolding mechanism of a protein in a living cell is the result of its molecular response to various perturbations due to changes in the chemical environment such as pH, ion concentration, ligand binding and many other complex chemical reactions. In this letter, a theoretical scheme based on single molecule force spectroscopy experiments and related theories, has been followed to capture the effect of the change of pH for a slow protonation-coupled folding-unfolding process, and the free energy landscape has been quantified in terms of protonation numbers, barrier height and pH, following Kramer's barrier crossing formalism. © 2014 Elsevier B.V. PH dependent protein stability: A quantitative approach based on Kramer's barrier escape

This work describes the synthesis, structural characterizations and electronic structures of a series of novel homometallic cubane clusters [(Cp∗Ru)2{Ru(CO)2}2BH(μ3-E)(μ-H)B(μ-H)3M], (2, M = Cp∗Ru, E = CO; 3, M = Ru(Cp∗Ru)2(μ-CO)3(μ-H)BH), E = BH), [(Cp∗Ru)3(μ3-CO)(BH)3(μ3-H)3], 4 and [(Cp∗Ru)2(μ3-CO){Ru(CO)3}2(BH)2(μ-H)B], 5 (Cp∗ = η5-C5Me5). These cubane clusters have been isolated from a thermally driven reaction of diruthenium analogue of pentaborane(9) [(Cp∗RuH)2B3H7], 1 and [Ru3(CO)12]. Structural and spectroscopic studies revealed the existence of triply bridged hydrogen (μ3-H) atoms that participate as a vertex in the cubane core formation for compounds 2, 3 and 4. In addition, the crystal structure of these clusters clearly confirms the presence of an electron precise borane ligand (borylene fragment) which is triply bridged to the trimetallic units. Bonding of these novel complexes has been studied computationally by DFT methods and the studies demonstrate that the cubane clusters 2 and 3 possess 60 cluster valence electrons (cves) with six metal-metal bonds. All the new compounds have been characterized in solution by mass spectrometry; IR; and 1H, 11B and 13C NMR studies and the structural types were unequivocally established by crystallographic analysis of compounds 2-5. Homometallic cubane clusters: Participation of three-coordinated hydrogen in 60-Valence electron cubane core

We report the preparation of mesoporous titanosilicate with active Ti centres using CTAB as the structure directing agent and ethylenediamine as the complexing agent (TSC-ED). The final material contained isolated Ti4+ centres substituting Si4+ in the mesoporous silica framework. The crucial role played by ethylenediamine in complexing with Ti4+ during the sol-gel process and preventing the phase segregation of TiO2 was studied systematically. The textural parameters, structural order, morphology, nature and co-ordination of Ti species were analyzed using various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis diffused reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS), UV resonance Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transformed Infra-red spectroscopy (FT-IR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transition electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Finally, the catalysts were tested for catalytic activity in the oxidation of cyclohexene using various oxidants. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2015.

Regulation of metabolic enzymes by lysine succinylation

The availability of acyl-Coenzyme A (acyl-CoA) thioester compounds affects numerous cellular functions including autophagy, lipid oxidation and synthesis, and post-translational modifications. Consequently, the acyl-CoA level changes tend to be associated with other metabolic alterations that regulate these critical cellular functions. Despite their biological importance, this class of metabolites remains difficult to detect and quantify using current analytical methods. Here we show a universal method for metabolomics that allows for the detection of an expansive set of acyl-CoA compounds and hundreds of other cellular metabolites. We apply this method to profile the dynamics of acyl-CoA compounds and corresponding alterations in metabolism across the metabolic network in response to high fat feeding in mice. We identified targeted metabolites (>50) and untargeted features (>1000) with significant changes (FDR < 0.05) in response to diet. A substantial extent of this metabolic remodeling exhibited correlated changes in acyl-CoA metabolism with acyl-carnitine metabolism and other features of the metabolic network that together can lead to the discovery of biomarkers of acyl-CoA metabolism. These findings show a robust acyl-CoA profiling method and identify coordinated changes of acyl-CoA metabolism in response to nutritional stress. © 2015 by The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Inc.

High-resolution metabolomics with acyl-CoA profiling reveals widespread remodeling in response to diet

Thermolysis of an in situ generated intermediate [(Cp∗Ta)2(BH3)2Cl2], 1 generated from the reaction of [Cp∗TaCl4], (Cp∗ = η5-C5Me5) and [LiBH4•thf], in presence of [Ru3(CO)12] yielded pileo-[Cp∗TaCl(μ-Cl)-B2H4Ru3(CO)8], 2 having two electrons fewer than seven pairs required for the observed square pyramidal geometry. Cluster 2 is the first example of an unsaturated cluster comprising early and late transition metals in a square pyramid core. This reaction also yielded [(Cp∗Ta)2(B2H6)(B2H4Cl2)], 3 as a by-product. In addition, the reaction of [Cp∗MoCl4] (Cp∗ = η5-C5Me5) with [LiBH4·thf] in presence of excess [MeI] at mild condition led to the isolation of periodinated dimolybdatetraborane [(Cp∗Mo)2B4H3I5], 4 that hints a possible existence of [(Cp∗Mo)2B4H8]. After the isolation of periodinated 4, we extended this chemistry towards the late transition metallaborane [(Cp∗Rh)3B4H4], 5 using [PtBr2] as brominating source. Although all the attempts to isolate perbrominated rhodaborane failed, we have isolated partially brominated rhodaborane clusters [(Cp∗Rh)3(BH)-(BBr)3], 6 and [(Cp∗Rh)3(BH)3(BBr)], 7. All the compounds were characterized by IR and 1H, 11B and 13C NMR spectroscopy in solution and the solidstate structures of 2, 4 and 6 were established by crystallographic analysis. © 2014 IUPAC & De Gruyter.
